FAQ

Nunu’s baby oil is made with love specifically for baby massage, and is safe to use even on infants from about 1 week old.

Nunu uses a blend of essential oils like sweet almond and shea butter, with the soothing fragrance of lavender. Almond oil is rich in vitamin A and E, essential fatty acids and minerals, while shea butter has a host of moisturising, anti-inflammatory and other healing properties.

Babies can benefit from gentle massage right from their first week. A massage before bedtime helps soothe and relax your child, while also aiding circulation and digestion. Take care to massage your baby with your hands moving upwards on the body, towards the heart. This lets your little one know they are loved 😊

Using a little baby oil, massage your 1-month-old baby with gentle but firm strokes, trying not to tickle them, along their whole body. You can massage your baby’s tummy, chest, back, legs, arms, head and face. A body massage should last between 10 to 30 minutes, depending on your baby’s mood.

After bathing is the best time to massage your little one, as their skin will already be moist and more supple, allowing the oils to penetrate the skin even more effectively. It can also help calm them between bath and bedtime and prep them for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The best time for a baby massage is right after a baby bath, helping to wind down from playful bath time to relaxing bedtime. A morning massage can also help get the day going for your child.

Try these steps to help your baby relax and fall asleep:

  • Soothing baby massage
  • Soft, tranquil music
  • Light, repetitive swaying or rocking
  • Dimming the lights

Establishing and sticking to a daily routine also helps your baby adjust towards sleep time.

Make sure from dinner time onwards that noise is turned down, electronic exposure is reduced and activities are wound down. Gentle rocking following a bath and soothing massage will help send your baby to slumberland.

Babies often fight their sleep when they are feeling some sort of separation anxiety, and don’t want you to leave them. Your little one can also fight sleep if they are overstimulated and not yet tired enough for bed. Overstimulated babies struggle to fall asleep and can give you sleepless nights along with your little one.

Massaging your baby does not mean he/she will grow faster, but it can provide a host of physical and emotional benefits to your child that can contribute towards overall health, so they can grow at the rate nature intended.

These natural products are beneficial in skincare, Almond Oil which is rich in Vitamin E and Shea Butter, with its hydrating properties: together, they make for a product both safe and highly valuable for baby massage and skincare.

We think the best baby massage oils help you show your little one how much you love them with soft, soothing touches. Nunu’s baby massage oil is for those extra-special moments between you and your baby.
